The Bauhaus was founded by Walter Gropius in 1919 in Weimar, Germany, having the idea of it being an art school and a community of artists working together and rejuvenating the design for everyday life. The Bauhaus welcomed creatives in different fields such as fine art, industrial design, graphic design, typography, interior design, and architecture. Students were able to take part in weaving, pottery, typography, metalworking, wall painting and metalworking. Teachers included Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Josef Albers. The Bauhaus only existed for 14 years, where it was no longer in use by 1933 due to political reasons.
In 1925, the Bauhaus moved to Dessau, where Gropius designed the building which is now a popular modern architectural building.
Today, the Bauhaus is known its architecture and is one of Berlin's landmarks. The Bauhaus is known internationally as a museum and exhibits work connected to the Bauhaus in which where people can visit.
